Youth & Children's Director / Director of
Christian Education
First Presbyterian Church in Graham, Texas is looking for someone to fill the
position of Director of Youth and Children's Ministry. This position will
also be responsible as the Director of Christian Education for this church.
We offer a competitive salary along with full participation in the Presbyterian
Church (USA) Board of Pension Plan.
Responsibilities:
To manage and develop a ministry with children and their parents (birth -
5th grade). This includes:
Sunday School
Monthly fellowship for elementary age children (Kids' Bible Club)
Supervise nursery personnel
Serve as liaison to for Stepping Stones Preschool
Summer program for children (Vacation Bible School or other program)
Coordinate summer camps (Buffalo Gap)
Parenting support group
To manage and develop a ministry with youth and their parents (6th-12th
grades). This includes:
Sunday School
Weekly fellowship that includes spiritual formation, recreation, mission
and study
Assist the pastor in yearly confirmation process for 6th grade students
Coordinate volunteers for C.E.R.T. (weekly lunch for high school students)
Coordinate and participate in summer camps (Mo Ranch)
Parenting support group
Identify, recruit, equip and train lay adult volunteers / leaders / church
school teachers
Keep abreast of educational needs of all age groups in the church and
refer these needs to the proper committee
Participate and attend regular staff / session meetings
Write a monthly newsletter article and annual report
General administrative tasks as necessary to perform job duties such as
ordering curriculum and Christian education supplies, mail-outs, etc.
